TOLEDO, November 25, 2020 — About 80 residents of the Oblate Residences apartment complex in west Toledo spent a second night away from home Tuesday, after fire broke out in the building on Monday. More than 60 are being sheltered by the Red Cross in two area hotels. The fire damaged the apartment building’s electrical system, and it could be several days before repairs are completed. Hotel rooms are being used, instead of more traditional congregate shelter space, to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19. In addition, Red Cross workers are wearing face coverings and sanitizing their hands frequently, as well as adhering to social distancing guidelines.

CLEVELAND, April 6, 2020 — On April 6, the American Red Cross announced that its Northeast Ohio Region will now be known as the Northern Ohio Region, following a national territorial realignment.
